First-Time Manager

When everything is moving at speed and teams are scaling, it makes it seem almost impossible for newly promoted managers to find time to adopt new behaviours and habits. Yet, management is primarily learned from on-the-job experiences—by doing and reflecting.

Our programme, Rising Leaders, is designed to do just that. We give managers the tools and confidence to try new behaviours, they reflect on the challenges to integrate them in their daily interactions and feed their experiences back to us to refine their approach.

We create rapid progression & results

Not all managers will be equally successful when trying out new techniques and tools. They might not get it right the first time or their approach might not produce the same results on all their team members.

The secret to our effectiveness is that we have a touch point with each manager every 2 weeks. This means we can fine tune together, in the moment, as they are facing challenges. This also means we get to know them well and are better placed to help them tap into their strengths or encourage them to step outside of their comfort zone.

Every single manager we have worked alongside has tried something new every single month and achieved a victory in the process.

We meet in small doses

Repeating elements over time, in small doses, is key to learning and changing. And the format fits nicely into managers' busy schedules.

Our face-to-face training workshops are just 2 hours. In that space, we get people to think about their current practices, try out some new techniques and receive feedback.

Our online coaching sessions are just 30 minutes. We focus our conversations on the changes they have made, the challenges they've encountered and how they might overcome them.

We focus on what managers need

We develop managers in small cohorts of 6 like-minded individuals. This means we can flex the content of the programme around the skills that are most critical to the success of each cohort.

Before the programme kick-off, managers complete an online assessment, rating themselves on key behaviours and describing their biggest challenges, greatest strengths and expectations of the programme.

We analyse the results for each cohort and factor in those answers to personalise our programme: we choose the 6 skills to focus on for those managers, curate the content of training workshops and orientate our 1:1 coaching conversations.
